Good performance and result by PP in Saudi. It would have been better if they had scored.

Very good performance by Perspolise
Perspolise could have won this game with a little luck, but good result after all.

Perspolise showed that they fight all the way.

Al Shabab 0-0 Pi*****: Shabab must sharpen up says Torres

Al Shabab lacked a cutting edge against Pi***** according to the Saudi side's head coach Enzo Torres. (AFP)
RIYADH - Al Shabab coach Enzo Torres was left to rue a lack of cutting edge in front of goal after Tuesday’s goalless draw with Iran’s Pi***** saw two potentially crucial points dropped in Group B.

The home side dominated the opening exchanges at of the AFC Champions League meeting at King Fahd International Stadium but failed to create a clear opportunity.

They could have easily been behind as Pi***** captain Karim Bagheri and the influential Al Karimi wasted clear-cut chances for the visitors.

But Al Shabab’s best chance of the game came five minutes after half-time as Saleh Sadeeq headed over from close range after being picked out by Nassir Al Shamrani’s pin-point cross.

Sadeeq, though, did need a last ditch tackle to deny Karimi with 16 minutes remaining as both sides were forced to settle for a point and a share of the group lead.

“It was a tough game. We dominated most of the match. Pi***** played well and deserve the credit,” said Torres.

“We came into the match looking for the win as it was a home game and we created many chances but we failed to find the net and I hope we can record better results in the future.”

Despite having the best of the opportunities, Pi***** coach Nelo Vingada was pleased with the point which leaves the two opening day winners in pole position a point clear of Qatar’s Al Gharafa who beat Sharjah 2-0.

“It was a tough match but I believe the draw was a fair result,” he said.

“We did, though, need some fantastic performances to stop Al Shabab.

“Al Shabab have a lot of good players and every coach would like to work with them.”

After back-to-back opening games, the Champions League takes a break until the second week of April when Pi***** entertain Al Gharafa and Al Shabab travel to Sharjah.

“Now, our next game against Al Gharafa will be difficult. We will be looking to maintain our position and I would hope to see both Pi***** and Al Shabab in the next round," added Vingada.

“Pi***** and Al Shabab have now collected four points, the other team has also won and I think the group has just begun.”

Both Iranian teams Perspolis and Saba tied today. Tomorrow, Sepahan and Eseghlal can each score a win in their matches.

Was he watching the same match? for God's sake him team was outplayed in their own home, and they must be thankful to our players' bad finishing for failing to score a couple of goals on them!

I think Vingada's above comments sound more like begging for a future job at Alshabab! :kookoo:

Anyhow I think Perspolis managed to display a good and solid teamwork and very attack-minded spirits, something our football has been lacking for years now!

Nevertheless failing to capitalize on our scoring opportunities is really worrisome and frightening, we don't even have one single decent finisher in our country!

Yeah. PP played very well today but they deserved to win.

I wish Karimi had scored all those chances. but well, at least we got a point from them which is great.

PP will show them their real power in Azadi. take my word for that.
