Hassan Rodbarian
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Pas
Birth Date (Age): 6/07/1978 (29)
Height: 1.87m
Weight: 80kg
As goalkeeper for Tehran club Pas, Hassan Roudbarian won the Iranian league title in 2004, but he was forced to play second fiddle in the national team under World Cup goalkeeper Ebrahim Mirzapour. He made his international debut against Costa Rica in March 2006 and was also part of the Iranian squad at last yearís World Cup finals.

Mehdi Mahdavikia
Position: Midfielder
Club: Eintracht Frankfurt (GER)
Birth Date (Age): 24/07/1977 (30)
Height: 1.72m
Weight: 71kg
One of three players in the Iran squad to have won Asiaís Player of the Year title, Mehdi Mahdavikia is among the most recognisable faces of the continentís game thanks to his success at both club and international level. Mahdavikia is the sole remaining member of the squad that finished third at the 1996 AFC Asian Cup and has represented his country at two World Cup finals. He recently signed a three-year contract with Eintracht Frankfurt after eight seasons with Hamburg.

Fereydoon Zandi
Position: Midfielder
Club: Apollon Limassol (CYP)
Birth Date (Age): 26/04/1979 (28)
Height: 1.85m
Weight: 80kg
Germany-born Ferydoon Zandi qualified to play for Iran through his father and the former Kaiserslautern midfielder made his debut for ĎTeam Mellií against Bahrain at the start of the final phase of Asiaís World Cup 2006 qualifying tournament. The creative midfielder, now based in Cyprus, struggled initially to settle into the Iran team, but he has now become a regular in the squad and offers a more disciplined approach.

Andranik Teymourian
Position: Midfielder
Club: Bolton Wanderers
Birth Date (Age): 6/03/1983 (24)
Height: 1.8m
Weight: 73kg
Andranik Teymourianís impressive performances in the centre of the Iranian midfield at the World Cup finals in Germany last year earned him a move to English Premier League side Bolton Wanderers. A combative and hardworking player, Teymourian took time to settle in England, but by the end of the season he had earned himself a place in the starting line-up for the UEFA Cup qualifiers.

Rahman Rezaei
Position: Defender
Club: Livorno (ITA)
Birth Date (Age): 20/02/1975 (32)
Height: 1.89m
Weight: 82kg
Veteran defender Rahman Rezaei has long been the rock upon which the Iranian backline has been based. A sound reader of the game, the former Perugia and Messina centre-half adds some much-needed solidity, while also presenting a threat from set-pieces with his aerial ability. He plans to retire from international football upon the completion of the tournament.

Javad Nekounam
Position: Midfielder
Club: Osasuna (ESP)
Birth Date (Age): 7/09/1980 (27)
Height: 1.86m
Weight: 76kg
In a side known for individual ability over teamwork, Javad Nekounam is the man who holds everything together from his position in front of the defence. An adept reader of the game, a good tackler and passer, Nekounam joined Osasuna following the World Cup last year and has impressed during his first season at the Spanish club.

http://www.afcasiancup.com/shared/media/images/players/IRN_1371_08.jpg
Ali Karimi
Position: Midfielder
Club: Bayern Munich (GER)
Birth Date (Age): 8/11/1978 (29)
Height: 1.8m
Weight: 78kg
After two disappointing seasons in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, Ali Karimi will be determined to prove he remains one of Asian footballís leading lights when the AFC Asian Cup kicks off. The former Asian Player of the Year is well known for his trickery on the ball and he finished the 2004 Asian Cup as joint highest scorer, along with Bahrainís Alaía Hubail.

Vahid Hashemian
Position: Forward
Club: Hannover 96 (GER)
Birth Date (Age): 21/07/1976 (31)
Height: 1.74m
Weight: 70kg
Vahid Hashemian has emerged as Iranís leading striker, with the Hannover forward scoring several vital goals during World Cup qualifying as the Iranians reached their third finals in 2006. After a disappointing spell with Hamburg, the former Pas forward blossomed following a transfer to Bochum, where his potency in the air earned him the nickname ĎThe Helicopterí. A disappointing season at Bayern Munich was followed by another move in the summer of 2005, with Hashemian joining Hannover.

http://www.afcasiancup.com/shared/media/images/players/IRN_1371_12.jpg
Seyed Jalal Hosseini
Position: Defender
Club: Saipa (IRN)
Birth Date (Age): 3/02/1982 (25)
Height: 1.84m
Weight: 80kg
A league title winner with Saipa this season, just one year after joining the club from Malavan, Seyed Jalal Hosseini is one of the least experienced members of the Iranian squad. His consistency at club level earned him a call-up for the national team, although he has represented Iran at age group levels in the past.
http://www.afcasiancup.com/shared/media/images/players/IRN_1371_13.jpg
Hossein Kaebi
Position: Midfielder
Club: Leicester City
Birth Date (Age): 23/09/1985 (22)
Height: 1.65m
Weight: 61kg
Hossein Kaebi made his national team debut at the age of just 16 when he played against Slovenia in 2002 and was also a member of the Iran team that won gold at the Asian Games in South Korea the same year. Known for his skill on the ball and direct running style, Kaebi is an attacking threat from the right side of the Iranian team and recently returned to Iran to join Tehranís Persepolis after stints in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
http://www.afcasiancup.com/shared/media/images/players/IRN_1371_16.jpg
Reza Enayati
Position: Forward
Club: Al Emarat (UAE)
Birth Date (Age): 23/09/1976 (31)
Height: 1.9m
Weight: 80kg
Reza Enayati finished the 2004/05 season as the leading scorer in the Iranian league while featuring for Esteghlal, when he found the back of the net on 20 occasions to finish as the top marksman for the second time in four seasons. While he has succeeded at domestic level, Enayati has found his way towards a regular spot in the national team blocked, although he was a member of Iranís World Cup squad in Germany.

Lol give him a chance, I reckon this could be his tournament, enayati will duppy weak opposition.

In general the line-up looks very strong (for us), I mean obviously I would suggest tweaks here and there but I'm not a coach, just hope we can do it this time because there is no reason why we can't win Asia.

I'm sorry guys, but I don't like Enayati. Since I love TM, I'll support everyone on the team, but he's one guy I just don't like. I'd rather have Borhani to play the first 60-65 minutes, then have Ali Daei sub in for the last 25-30 minutes. This is just my opinion. :iran:

If Shojaei was playing instead of Enayati that was our best eleven.

Come on guys lets win convincingly.
