saegh 80 is flying too

few weeks ago Iranian defence industry showed the public their newest creation Shafagh fighter, yesterday IRIB news showed another Iranian fighter "Saegh 80" by a short flight during their news!

i saw the video of it on irib news,
they only referred to this fighter as saeghe, not saeghe-80,
it doesnt look like many people thought saeghe-80 would look like,
maybe they have different types of saeghe...we´ll see :iran2:

Don't be naive, defense system is number one priority for any country specially if you live in the mideast. If it was up to me, I would personally support a tax hike for upper middle class in order to beef up our defense.

Jashar jan, I agree that peace is a good thing, but Iranians are not living in Disneyland, Iran is in middle east and lot of forein powers have ecconomical interessts there, our country have been attacked by Saddam and now US soldiers are positioning their ships and soldiers close to our borders!! USA even shot down an iranian passenger plane in 1989 and US or british soldiers sometimes cross our borders to provocate us! Israel is talking about attacking our nuclear plants and heavy armed drug dealers daily kill iranian soldiers on pakistan or Afganistan borders, so what do you expect from Iranian soldiers???should we just welcome the next agressor attacking our country????????

I understand and respect your point of view about hating weapons and wars, but dear friend, Iran is located in middle east not in disneyland!!!!!!!!!!!!If we wouldn't be strong enough to defend our indepency, the foreign powers would divide Iran in 10 smaller countries!!!!

Parjad jan!you are right the exact name of the plane isn't yet confirmed, some say Saegh 80, some say Saeghe....

Fact is that this plane seems to be completly made in Iran, in case of Shafagh there were some rumors about some foreign support..


Of course it is still a lot to prove, but I think iranian defence industry is making step by step more progress!!

Shafagh was a joint venture between Russia and Iran. several years ago russia pulled out due to American pressure. Shafagh if they ever finish it will be a great plane. It would be a very advanced stealth fighter/bomber.

thunder (Sa'egh) is a highly modified F5. If you look at a F5 and Thunder you will see that they look very similar. The only visible difference is the tail fins.

Jashar, dont underestimate Iran's armed forces. If they were weak like Iraq we would be flying the American Flag by now. The only reason Iran has not been invaded yet is due to high cost to the aggressor.

I know that we have relatively powerful armed forces.
Sure, we could resist a few month.....but at the end.....well you know.

Jashar it is not up to us to give them a reason to attack. They attack if they find us weak simple as that. the trick is to make it as costly as possible to avoid future attacks. Nuke is the best way to go.

Jashar Jan! I don't think USA would attack Iran! US army has already so many troubles in Iraq that they really are close to a disaster!

Don't forget Iran is larger,full of mountains, has a 3 time higher than Iraqand our population is always united by a foreign invasion! And finally it is lot harder to close or borders, so it would be possible that lot of other people with close connection to Iranian culture like Azeri’s or Turkmen’s would come to support iranians by their fight against US invadors!!

So if you look back in history, you see USA almost lost all wars,when they got involved in direct fights with a country’s population just remember Vietnam or Korea!

That’s also the main reason why they usually focus on using their airforce and bomb you until your armed forces would give up! But we all know in first gulf war Iraqi soldiers even surrender themselves to CNN journalists cuz no one of them would like to die for Saddam!

In Iran every Iranian soldier would fight until his last blood drop, I’m sure about this! Cuz all Iranian history showed us no matter if we have a good or bad government that Invadors always make our country become worser!!!!

I don’t think US generals are not so stupid to send their ground troops for an invasion on Iran, cuz they don’t want another vietnam


The only thing which USA can do, is to do some fast strikes on Iran to destroy our nuclear plants! This is something they can do with their giant airforce!!! And this is our weak link, cuz our air defence isn’t so good! So that’s the reason why our arm industry should focus on improving our air defence as strong as possible!!!

But even if they would destroy our nuclear plants, I’m sure we just would make new ones! We have lot of engineers and technicians which would give their best!!!

THey were flying over iraqi Teritory after 1991 war almost every day and Iraqi didn't do a lot, Iraq even destroy all it weapons to not give them any reason to attack, at the end all those time iraq just agreed,made USA lot easier to attack Iraq!!!!Why USA never attack North Korea or China????

Don't forget USA only stoped with those flights inside Chinese waters,when chinese took those soldiers in a jail and ask USA to say officially sorry!!!!

Generally you are right.....we should defend our country...but Ali jaane aziz......the english soldiers told that they even didnT enter iranian territory with their boat,it was the iranians whpo forced them into iranian territory! DonT know...maybe they are saying the truth...we canT know!

Jashar jan! It is hard to me to believe the british soldiers because following reasons!

1.Didn't US and Brtish government said they have lot of evidence that Iraq has lot of very dangerous weapons of mass destruction!???now after the war they even haven't one single evidence!!!!!

2.If this boardercrossing would happen just this time I maybe would accept their version! but from gulf war of 1991 until today war again and again US or British planes or boats crossed Iranian boarders!!!!I dn't believe in so many acceident! it looks really like they are testing our reaction to their provocation!!!!!

3.once again, I absolutly agree with you that Iranian government isn't a good government, and I don't want to justify the stupid islamic government but in this case we must make a clear difference between domestic political problems inside Iran and the possibility of a foreign attack on Iran! No matter which government would be in Iran in case of a foreign invasion every Persian must fully support our armed troops,because past showed us again,foreign powers often attack us during hard times and Iran always lost territories! all those regions like Azernbaidjan,Armenia or Turkmenistan were parts of Iran! If we today would sleep, you can't be sure they would try to create new states inside our boarders like Kurdestan or a new Khuzestan!!! that's why we really must be carefull and unite when we feel danger is close to come!Just look what they did to Iraq!

4.I also agree with you on issues like political prisoners in Iran, but I tihink after what USA and england have done in Afghanistan and Iraq, we really should now unite behind our armed force by defendig Iranian boarders! and of course at same time population of Iran must put pressure on iranian government to start with giving people freedom, but we should not mix the different issues!national security and our boarders are a red line and no foreign soldiers should be allowed to cross that line and if that happen we must react!!!!!and arresting those british soldiers and forcing England to say "officialy" sorry was absolutly necessary and I'm sure every Iranian government would do the same in this issue!
