Heading to California for Vacation

As you may know land of freedom :rolleyes: has thus far been under my sanction. Although I travel to States for business purposes almost every month, but I’m proud of not spending my own money in Uncle Sam’s land. :cool:

This year is a bit different though, as many of my high school/university buddies have (will) come to California from around the world to have a reunion. The beauty of this get together is that not only will we have the opportunity of seeing each other after many years again, but each other’s spouses/kids too. We also may end up having some trips to Vegas and other surrounding areas, like San Francisco as well.

I’ll be in California in July 3rd -14th timeframe, and even though my trip details are not confirmed yet, but I’d like to have the privilege of meeting some of our Californian IK dudes.

Thus I was wondering if Nader jaan, Shemruni, Kaveh OC, Ostad Pouyaand other guys can work around their schedule and let me know whether we can have a chat over a beer sometime next week. I wish I could meet “the one and only” Dashali during this trip too!

I’ll check IK forums today, and while I’m down there. You may either post your replies under this thread or send me a PM for sweating further details.

This sounds great. As Shemruni suggested, he, Ostad and I live very close. The three of us have talked about getting together 145 times but never have! This will be a good excuse. Naderjan is in the San Jose area and Dashali is in Phili.

I will be around those days. I suggest we plan for a lunch at a chelokababi in West Wood. If you end up to be in the Orange County, I could pick you up and drive up north.

Your California is damn big :wall: If I drive 400 miles North of Toronto I'll end up in North Pole for god's sakes :D

Laguna Nigel is in the lovely O.C. So, you'll be close to Kaveh.

Westwood is about 65-70 miles north. With no traffic, it'll take less than an hour...with traffic it'll take less than 2 days. :D

Of course as you may know, Westwood is the heart of the Iranian community in L.A. They call it Little Tehran.

My new job is in calbasas and in the afternoons it takes me almost 1.5 to 2 hours to get home. If we can do it for sham and then some drinks it would be much better for me. What a fantastic area!

I got here yesterday afternoon, and I have so far visted Laguna Beach and the area. Our buddies gave us a tour to the "top of the world" area too.

We have unfortunately scheduled to be in Vegas from July 11th-13th, and I doubt it if I can make the 13th guys.

I know that Kaveh will be in Dallas for couple of days, and Shemi is aslo away for couple of days. I'll be in OC from Monday 5th until Saturday the 10th. Any chance that you guys make it during this timeframe? If not the other choice for me is to see Shemi first and then Kaveh jaan later. I'll call Kaveh later today....

First of all, it was great to see Hamidoo. He is the second IK member I am meeting in person. The first was San Diego Bijan and I enjoyed that visit too.

Now, with this new schedule, once again, Shemruni, Ostad and I will not get a chance to get together.

It was great meeting Kaveh guys. He's a smart guy with a great sense of humor. I enjoyed every second of our conversation, and looking forward to seeing him very soon again.

If you read rest of the posts, you'll see that 7/13 was cancelled. I think Hamidoo, Ostad and Shemruni will meet some time this year. I am in Dallas this week.
