Looking to the Future

   When the late Freddy Mercurry of the band Queen died, the whole band was dissolved too. Why? because the lead guitarist Brian May said that they did not have anybody to replace him or he simply would not be replaced.

Now let us analyze the Iranian national football team as it is stands right now. There are currently three major players approaching the retirement, Ali Daei, Karim Bagheri and khodadad Azizi, although Bagheri has definitely some flourishing years ahead.

These mentioned players have served the country with their true efforts at the international level and as a result numerous teenagers have followed their footsteps. In order to open the way for Iran's next generation of footballers, we should provide the means and resources for them to learn the modern football and other sports and develop their skills. Current sport fields in Iran such as asphalt  surfaces do not provide a safe environment and grass fields and safer facilities are of rare phenomenon in our country.

I spoke with the former goal keeper of Teraktorsazi Tabriz in his restaurant here in Goteborg. He praised the efforts of Nasser Mohamad-Khani while he was in charge of Teraktorsazi. The former keeper also added that it is easy to find talented young players in Iran and make great players out of them. He also emphasized the need to provide better resources for the youth urging them to believe in themselves. Once the kids get plunged in the sports, they will automatically stay away from drugs and dangerous  hobbies.

The move made by Berga, the current head coach to bring some players from the youth team is quite  appropriate in the sense that they get a huge incentive and motivation to improve while training with the  senior members of the team. It is often worthwhile to combine senior and junior players in an optimum  sporting environment. The same procedure must be applied in favor of the young girls as well. Considering the fact that half of the society is comprised of females one must realize that in order to strive for a healthy society, then the girls  must not be omitted either.
