Can government financed Football clubs run efficiently?

Iran's Football is ill. A sickness that has no remedy, waiting for a miracle cure. The Millions of dollars that's being spend by private sector and Government bodies only lengthens the inevitable.

Many years ago most Clubs in Azadeghan league were self-supported. Teams such as Esteghlal, Malavan, Arrarat, Shahin, Perspolis, Sepahan Isfehan relied on ticket sales limited advertising, and abroad friendly games to cover their cost. These teams produced many talented players, and also contributed to Iran's national team.

Now days there is no sign of strength in clubs, even the biggest clubs are in the process of being bankrupt. All these teams rely solely on Government hand outs to the point where if these Government organizations ever to decide to cut down or stop their contribution t would destroy them all.

We should be concerned as what and how our beloved teams, Perspolis, Esteghlal, Pass, and etc. are supporting themselves, while there is no sign of previous great achievements and no goals set to achieve their self-supporting status which once they held proudly.

Yearly 300 million Tomans of tax payers money is being spend on clubs, from which 5 million being spend by staffs, and organizers. Has any of these teams used this money   to rectify their financial problems or have they even planed for a self-supporting strategy?

Iranian Football is in jeopardy, and its time for club organizers to wake up and work hard to earn people's respect and produce a Pro league that our football desperately needs.
