Jordan national football team departs for Iran

Sunday, June, 6 Amman (SUJ) – Jordan National Football team leaves to Tehran, Iran today to meet the National Iranian Football team on Wednesday, within the 3rd stage of World Cup Qualifiers. The two teams head the list of the 1st group with 6 points for each.
Jordan currently ranks second in Group 1 after beating Qatar 1-0 and Laos 5-0. Leaders Iran beat Laos 7-0 and Qatar 3-1.
This match is considered to be a crucial one for both teams they aim to take the remaining qualifying slot from the four-nation group.
Jordan earlier played Iran two times begining of the year winning 3-2 and losing 4-1 in the Asian qualifiers in which the Kingdom scored four consecutive victories in Group 4 defeating North Korea 3-0 twice, Lebanon 1-0 and 2-0 to qualify to this summer's Asian finals for the first time in the event's 49-year history according to Jordan Times.
Until Yesterday, Jordan team drew last touch ups on training at King Abdullah Stadium in Kwaismeh, aiming at raising the readiness level and reinforce the harmony between players, as well as dealing with some simple errors that emerged through the team's preparation including the friendly matches with Nigeria, Libya, Cyprus and Algeria. The Iranian team has been through a training camp for about two weeks.
