World deaf football final: Iran V Saudi Arabia

Kuala Lumpur, May 27, IRNA - Saudi Arabia defeated Japan in the semifinal here Wednesday to set up the golden showdown with powerful Iran in the World Deaf Football Championships. Playing on the pitch of Malaya University, the Group B-bound Saudi Arabia hit four to beat Nippon 4-2.

Earlier on Wednesday, Iran crushed the Malaysian side 6-0 in the semifinal. Iran won 2-0 in halftime. On Sunday, Japan and Malaysia play for the third title and Iran and Saudi Arabia clash for the title.

Iran and Saudi Arabia have qualified for the 2005 world event in Melbourne, Australia, and the third-placed team -- Japan or Malaysia -- will join them. Twelve teams were to compete in Malaysia but five withdrew.
