Sanandaj, Kurdestan Prov, May 10, IRNA - Esteqlal of Tehran was seen off with stones in Zagross stadium where the home team Marivan lost 2-0 a League Cup match Sunday.

Following losing the third Iran Pro League title to Pas in the last week on May 3, the blue-clad Esteqlal is determined to lift the trophy in the League Cup. Striker Farzad Majidi opened the scoring in the additional time before the interval and forward Faraz Fatemi made it 2-0 in the 85th minute.

Some hooligans hurled stones toward the blues, who were walking off the field after the match. Nobody was injured. Esteqlal will entertain Marivan in the second in the 100,000-seater Azadi stadium on May 14.

In another game, visitor Pegah of northern Gilan province defeated Iran Javan 1-0 in Shahid Beheshti stadium in the southern city Bushehr. Amir-Hossein Salamibakhsh scored the sole goal of the match. Javan travels to Rasht to play Pegah in Shahid Azodi stadium on May 3.
